The new DeepL API gives developers code-driven control to build real-time voice translation experiences, scale custom style rules, and seamlessly manage translation infrastructure. We have redesigned the developer experience to make integrating DeepL’s advanced language AI into your products simpler and more powerful than ever before.

The All-New API Console

The redesigned API console provides intuitive key management, usage tracking, and analytics capabilities. Developers can monitor API call volumes, error rates, and response times in real time, making it easy to optimize integration performance. Usage dashboards break down consumption by endpoint, language pair, and time period, giving teams precise visibility into how translation costs accumulate and where optimization opportunities exist.

The console also introduces granular access controls. Team administrators can create API keys with scoped permissions, allowing different services and team members to access only the endpoints and features they need. This is particularly valuable for organizations managing multiple applications or multi-tenant architectures where translation access must be carefully governed.

Style Rules via API: Brand Consistency at Code Level

Style rules are now fully manageable through the API. You can create, update, and delete style rules programmatically and reference them in translation requests via the style_id parameter. This keeps brand terminology and corporate style completely consistent across API-driven translation workflows.

For example, a global e-commerce platform can maintain separate style profiles for product descriptions, customer support responses, and marketing copy—each enforced automatically through the API without requiring translators to remember which rules apply to which content type. The result is consistent brand voice across every touchpoint, in every language, without adding cognitive load to the teams producing the content.

Translation Memory API: Unlocking Reuse at Scale

Translation memory and glossary management are also fully open via API endpoints. You can now upload translation memories directly from TMX files exported from CAT tools or other TMS systems, manage glossary entries through the API, and share these resources across teams. This means organizations with existing translation assets can migrate them into DeepL without manual data entry or format conversion.

The translation memory API is particularly powerful for organizations with high volumes of repetitive content—software documentation, legal contracts, regulatory filings. Once a segment has been translated and stored in memory, every subsequent occurrence of that segment is handled with zero incremental translation cost and perfect consistency, whether the content appears in the API, the web translator, or any integrated workflow.

Voice API: Real-Time Speech Translation for Your Platform

The new DeepL Voice API opens real-time voice translation capabilities to developers. You can now integrate voice translation into customer support platforms, video conferencing tools, and collaboration applications. The API supports WebSocket-based real-time streaming with latency under 200ms, making it suitable for live conversation scenarios where every millisecond of delay degrades the user experience.

This is the same technology that powers DeepL Voice for Meetings and Voice for Conversations, now exposed as a programmable interface. Contact center platforms can route multilingual calls through a single queue. Virtual event platforms can add live translated audio channels.
