About Customer Content Deletion

Understand data handling policies after account deactivation

← Back to Help Center

Once a subscription is canceled and deactivated, DeepL will delete your custom content 90 days later. This includes:

  • Glossaries
  • Saved translations
  • Style rules
  • Write custom rules

Team Accounts

Teams will be dissolved within 90 days after subscription expiration, unless a new subscription is renewed during this period. Team members and administrators will be converted to free accounts and can freely join other teams.

Important: All custom content created by team members will be deleted.

Unaffected Content

  • Content stored locally (e.g., in mobile apps) will not be deleted
  • Invoice records will not be deleted (but team administrators will lose access after 90 days)

Recommended Actions

To retain custom content, please do the following before subscription expiration (or within the 90-day period):

  • Download glossaries (export as CSV)
  • Download invoices
  • Export style rules and configurations

If you hold a free account and wish to delete it, please refer to the relevant guide for instructions.
